It’s quite interesting the words that are prominent in this Wordle, even more so, those that are not.
Thinking about what you know about the Common Core State Standards, what surprises you about this Wordle? What themes jump out at you? Does our work with teachers and students have a laser like focus on the prominent themes and ideas of the Common Core?
I have seen and created some interesting Wordles while exploring the tool. I once saw a wordle of a portion of the Constitution of the United States that clearly exhibited the Core Democratic Values. After watching a presentation on close reading of text I created a Wordle of paragraph 10 of Dr. Martin Luther King’s A Letter from Birmingham Jail that illustrates such themes as tension, nonviolence and creative negotiation. How might you use Wordle in your classroom?
